Springer is launching a new Handbook of Social Networks Technologies and Applications with the main objective to provide a variety of research and survey articles (18-36 pages) contributed by world experts in the field. Springer is committed to create a successful and unique Handbook in this field and therefore it intends to support it with a large marketing and advertising effort. Potential contributors should express their interest by sending an email to Borko Furht at borko@cse.fau.edu.
DESCRIPTION Social networking is a concept that has been around for a long time; however with the explosition of the Internet, social netwrking has become a tool for connecting people and allowing their communications in the ways that was previously impossible. Firthermore, the recent development of Web 2.0 has provided for many new applications such as Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn, and many others.
The objective of this Handbook is to provide comprehensive guidelines on the current and future trends in social network technologies and applications. The book will include contributions from the world experts in the field of social networks both from academia and industry. A number of crucial topics will be covered including We, software and networking technologies for social networks, social networks analysis, creation, search, and mining techniques, mobile social networks, visualiaztion techniques for social networks, and others.
