CSE Computer Account Policy
- All CSE undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for a UNIX account during their stay at FAU. However,
if a student does not register for any courses for two semesters in a row, their accounts may be removed in order
to reclaim disk resources for incoming students.
- CSE UNIX Accounts are given out only to FAU students who are registered in a CSE course. Non CSE students
will be given a semester account which will be removed at the end of the semester. If you signup for another CSE
course in the next semester, you will need to re-register for a UNIX account. Requests for extensions of semester
accounts must approved by the professor of the course.
- Faculty or Staff working on research projects with CSE faculty are eligible for sponsored UNIX accounts. Please
check with your CSE faculty sponsor for further information.
- Accounts that are scheduled to be removed will be given two weeks notice via email before they are expired.
- Please email sysadm@cse.fau.edu for any account questions such as:
- Switching accounts from temporary semester accounts to permanent (grad or ugrad) accounts once you have been
accepted into the CSE graduate or undergraduate program.
- Changing your full name.
- Increasing disk quota.
- Restoring deleted files (this is done as a courtesy and is not guaranteed due to limited backup resources).
