| Abstract |
This presentation will cover the present and future technical applications of RFID/NFC. Near Field Communication (NFC) represents the second generation of the proximity contact-less technology, based on RF technology at 13.56 MHz and data exchange rate at 424kbit/sec, which enables consumer access to aggregated services, anytime, anywhere, with any type of consumer stationary or mobile devices. NFC is also backward compatible to RFID standardized in ISO 14443. NFC is jointly developed by Philips and Sony, two leading players in the consumer market. Several companies have also joined the NFC Forum and been developing NFC-enabled products and services like Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Samsung, Visa, Mastercard and Microsoft. |
