Water Restrictions Cutbacks

At the beginning of each month the Trigger Module of the SFWMM determines if a particular phase for short-term water use restriction should be declared for the entire month. The maximum monthly irrigation for each of the six use types is defined by:

where UT is one of six usage types (urban landscape, nursery, golf course, agricultural low volume, agricultural overhead, and other agricultural), P is the number of the water restriction phase (1-4), GIRRMAX(UT,P) is the maximum monthly irrigation for use type UT during phase P, IRRAREA(UT) is the area in acres of the SFWMM grid cell that is irrigated for use type UT, MAXIRRAPL(UT,P) is the maximum monthly irrigation application rate for use type UT during a phase P water restriction. Cutback fractions for the appropriate water restriction phase, CBFRAC(P), are used for public water supply only.
