ABOUT
THE INTERNATIONAL DIVISION
In its work toward
promoting international understanding in a global era this division
offers a forum for the exchange of ideas for multicultural and
multinational activities. The division publishes a newsletter to inform
its members of various international opportunities available and how to
become active in such programs.
This
Division belongs to Professional Interest Council (PIC) IV
ASEE has expanded its international activities. Headquarters has
an ASEE International Department to facilitate interconnectivity with
stakeholders in engineering education from across the globe. You

MISSION / VISION
/ OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of this unit are identical with the
objectives
of the Society as set out in the ASEE Constitution, with an emphasis on
those objectives that pertain to promoting international understanding.
Specifically, the unit shall:
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas for
multicultural
and multinational activities.
- Publish a newsletter to inform its members of various
international opportunities and activities.

Best Paper Award
This award promotes and acknowledges engineering and
engineering technology educators for the preparation of an exceptional
paper sponsored by the International Division each year during the ASEE
Annual Conference. The award consists of a plaque, presented at the
International Division's Annual Reception, which is held as an event at
the ASEE Annual Conference.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, the nominated author(s) must be a member(s) of the
International Division and have any or all of the following:
Demonstrate excellence, knowledge, and creative
practices that contribute to the quality and advances the scope of
engineering and engineering technology education.
Demonstrate excellence in supporting and promoting the
International Division.
Present a paper at one of the sessions sponsored by the
International Division and their paper must be accepted for publication
in the conference proceedings.
Selection will be primarily based upon the quality,
originality, innovation, documented results and other factors of the
written paper and its relevance to global engineering and engineering
technology education.
Nominations:
Papers eligible for this award shall be peer reviewed. Recommendations
for consideration must be submitted by reviewers to the Program Chair.
Officers of the International Division will select the winner.

Service Award
This award acknowledges and recognizes an individual who
has made valuable contributions toward advancing the mission of the
International Division. The award consists of a plaque, presented at
the International Division's Annual Reception, which is held as an
event at the ASEE Annual Conference.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, the nominee must be a member of the International
Division, with a minimum of five years of service. Selection will be
based primarily upon the quality of contributions, relevant support and
promotion of the International Division's mission including, but not
limited to:
- Visionary Leadership: Demonstrating excellence in
leadership.
- Accomplishments: Demonstrating excellence and
knowledge, creative practices that contribute to the advances and
quality of engineering and engineering technology education.
- Service to the International Division: Demonstrating
excellence in supporting and promoting international engineering and
engineering technology education.

Global
Engineering & Engineering Technology Educator Award
This award acknowledges engineering and engineering
technology educators for their exceptional contribution to global
engineering & engineering technology education. The award consists
of a plaque, presented at the International Division's Annual
Reception, which is held as an event at the ASEE Annual Conference.
Eligibility:
Although non-ASEE international service is important and will be
considered, to be eligible, the nominated individual(s) must also be a
member of the International Division for at least three years, and have
any or all of the following:
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership.
- Demonstrated knowledge and creative practices that
contribute to quality of and advances in engineering and engineering
technology education.
- Demonstrated excellence in supporting and promoting
global engineering and engineering technology education.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning.
- Personal and professional development in global arena
by means of industry, consulting work, inventions, service, etc.
Selection will be primarily based upon the quality of
work and its relevance to global engineering and engineering technology
education.
