  • Overview of Computer Applications 1 & 2 courses.

    Computer Applications 1 & 2 are distance learning courses, designed to bring the students the skills and concepts necessary to use MS Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint) efficiently and effectively. The learning path for Computer Applications is divided in two levels:

  • Computer Applications 1 (CGS 1570), the Introductory level and prerequisite for next level
  • Computer Applications 2 (CGS 1571), the Intermediate level.

    2. Can I take both courses the same semester?
      Yes, we will provide an alternate schedule for students taking both courses.

    3. What does "distance learning courses" mean?
      It means that both courses don't require the physical presence of the student in class, all activities and content related to the courses can be done remotely via the course web site using Internet.

    16. I bought a used book, where can I get myitlab access code?

      You can PURCHASE the access code separately from http://www.myitlab.com; look for "Don't have an access code?" on the left hand side, click on "Learn how to obtain one", and follow the directions.

    17. I bought a used book, where can I get Microsoft 2007?

    18. How do I get access to course website?

      Follow these steps in order to get access to course web site: (watch video tutorial)

    19. Register into myitlab.com web site, you will be asked for a LoginName and an myITlab access code (use your FAU email as LoginName).
    20. After registration you will get a PEARSON LoginName.
    21. Login into myitlab.com using your PEARSON LoginName and password.
    22. Install the myITlab software (Getting started in myITlab - Using Installation Wizard)
    23. Once you are logged on, you need to enroll in the course using the Course ID provided at Course Information section.
    24. Now you are enrolled in the course and can start to use it, from now on, you just need to Login into myitlab.com to get access to course content.

    26. How do I get and turn in assigments and exams?

      You will find this user guide very helpful.
